Elisa is a Group Leader at Institut Pasteur and specialises in resident macrophages. Her research focuses on their embryonic origin (yolk sac progenitors), their maintenance, and their function during development and tissue repair. She integrates immunology and developmental biology to study how these cells regulate organ homeostasis and inflammation.
As a Mercator Fellow, Elisa is associated with the TRR 359 PILOT, where she contributes through short visits, guest lectures and collaborative projects, and, as a member of thesis advisory committees, supports doctoral researchers in their personal and scientific development.
