PILOT will be co-hosting a satellite symposium at the 55th annual DGfI meeting

PILOT, together with the EFIS study group on Early-Life Immune Development (EFIS-ELINE), will host a satellite symposium at the 55th annual DGfI meeting.

The “Early-life Immunity” satellite workshop at the 55th Annual Meeting of the German Society for Immunology brings together researchers interested in immune development before and after birth, the transition from fetal to postnatal life, and the environmental, microbial, genetic and clinical factors that shape immunity in the perinatal period.

The workshop is jointly organized by us, the EFIS study group on Early-Life Immune Development, and the TRR359 PILOT consortium. Both initiatives share the aim of strengthening early-life immunology as an interdisciplinary field: by connecting scientists and clinicians, fostering collaboration and exchange of data and methods, supporting training, and advancing mechanistic insights into perinatal immune development toward better health outcomes for children.

Contributions on all aspects of early-life immunity are welcome, including but not limited to fetal and neonatal immune development, perinatal immune-cell differentiation, tissue-specific immune maturation, host–microbiome interactions, infection and inflammation in early life, prematurity, maternal–infant immune interactions, systems immunology, single-cell and spatial approaches, and clinical translation. The focus will be on scientific exchange, emerging concepts, and discussion across disciplines. We therefore particularly encourage contributions from junior researchers and from researchers who would like to discuss ongoing projects, new hypotheses, methodological challenges, or translational perspectives with an interdisciplinary audience.

Presenters of contributed talks are invited to register for the main conference. However, registration for the main event is not obligatory for participation in the satellite workshop. Participants who do not register for the main conference can contact us to obtain a separate invitation.
